OREANDA-NEWS.  JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” and Estonian company "AS Vopak E.O.S.  Ltd." signed the contract on acquisition of 15 locomotives of TE33A made in Kazakhstan.

The solemn signing of the contract on delivery of 15 engines of production of JSC “Lokomotiv kurastyru zauyty” took place in the central building of KTZ in Astana.

From the Kazakhstani part the document was signed by the President of JSC “NC “KTZ” Askar Mamin, from Estonian - the Chairman of the board of AS Vopak E.O.S.  Ltd.  Arnaut Lugtmeyer. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister of Economics and communications of the Republic of Estonia Yukhan Parts and the President of General Electric Transportation Lorenzo Simonelli.
 
Yukhan Parts in his welcoming speech emphasized importance of bilateral cooperation and hope for further of interaction between two countries.
 
Askar Mamin stated that Estonia was an important partner for Kazakhstan in the trade - economic relations, and today's signing was clear proof of a fruitful relationship.
 
Negotiations between JSC "LKZ" and AS Vopak EOS Ltd., which is the largest independent terminal operator in the Baltic States, began in 2010.
 
In December 2011, the Kazakh side provided TE33A locomotive number 0080 for renting for operational testing at the site of Railways of the Republic of Estonia. The test lasted five months.
 
According to the results of tests, as well as after the performance analysis of competitive locomotive models from other manufacturers, the Estonian side came to conclusion to purchase locomotives manufactured in Kazakhstan.
