OREANDA-NEWS. Starting from May 20, 2013 the partner of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport, Tomsk Avia Airlines launched direct regular flights from Novosibirsk to Strezhevoy. Flights will be performed three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on An-24. Departure time from Novosibirsk is 01:10 p.m., from Strezhevoy – 10:35 a.m. (local time for each airport is implied). Travel time is 1 hour 45 minutes.

The opening of flights to Strezhevoi is a part of the program for development of regional aviation, as well as the Resolution # 265 by the Government of the Russian Federation dated 27.03.2013 on subsidizing regional air transportation. Currently the regional route network from Novosibirsk includes such cities as Nizhnevartovsk, Surgut, Noyabrsk, New Urengoy, Omsk, Tomsk, Altay, Tyumen and others. In the near future the airport expects to launch direct flights to Abakan, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kyzyl and other destinations. Also, flights to Salekhard will start in June.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights – 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers.

Tomsk Avia Airlines is the oldest air carrier in the Tomsk region. Passenger and cargo traffic services are performed on Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, An-24 and An-26 aircraft, Mi-8 helicopters. Flight geography of the airlines’ regular flights covers such cities as Tomsk, Strezhevoy, Nizhnevartovsk, Surgut and Novosibirsk. One of its primary objectives is regional air traffic development.
