OREANDA-NEWS. Works on constructional design of the airfield complex started at NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport. Administration of Civil Airports (Airfields) acts as a contractor of the project while the general design organization is the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “State Design Survey and Scientific Research Institute of Civil Aviation AEROPROJECT” (FGUP GPI and NII GA “Aeroproject”).

From 1st to 5th July, 2013 the expert group of AEROPROJECT consisting of 12 members in cooperation with operational departments of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport, Novosibirsk ATM Center of ZapSibaeronavigatsia branch office and the Zonal Aviation Meteorological Center Novosibirsk inspected the airfield elements along with the buildings and constructions in its territory, radiotechnical flight support system, weather equipment and power engineering facilities.

The complex project implies modernisation of several airfield infrastructure objects of NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport such as Surfaced RWY-1, drainage system (including water treatment facility), apron, taxiway system, Surfaced RWY-1 upgrading up to ICAO II category as well as construction of a new search-and-rescue station and airfield facilities equipping with security systems in order to ensure transport safety.

The deadline for the project development is set for November 2014. As a part of the Federal Target Program Development of Transport System of Russia (2010 - 2020), the launch of reconstruction works of Novosibirsk airport airfield complex is scheduled for 2014 year end.

NOVOSIBIRSK International Airport is the largest air hub in Russia east of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The domestic airline capacity makes up 1,800 passengers per hour, on international flights - 750 passengers per hour. The airport has two runways. In 2013 it expects to serve over 3.7 million passengers and handle over 35 thousand tons of cargo and mail.

FGUP GPI and NII GA “AEROPROJECT” (Federal State Unitary Enterprise “State Design Survey and Scientific Research Institute of Civil Aviation AEROPROJECT”) is the leading industry research institute capable of performing any project related to the development of the civil aviation ground base. The organization involves experts of over 30 qualifications, thus, being able to solve in system mode tasks on development and reconstruction of airports (helidromes) and their infrastructure. The complexity of the institute (design survey and scientific research) enables efficient application of the latest scientific achievements in its projects. The significant aspect of AEROPROJECT’s activity is participation in the development of industrial regulatory documents concerning Civil Aviation. In 2014 AEROPROJECT is to celebrate its 80 years anniversary.
