OREANDA-NEWS. ISS-Reshetnev team has already passed the first stage of work in the territory of Kazakhstan involving the installation of control hardware and software for the KazSat-3 telecommunications satellite.

Under the contract for the construction of the KazSat-3 spacecraft in the interest of Kazakhstan, the Reshetnev Company is responsible not only for the design, development, manufacture and testing of the satellite, but for the establishment of the central and backup ground control complexes called Akkol and Almaty. These facilities will comprise antenna, TT&C (tracking, telemetry and command) systems, communication monitoring system, as well as mission control centers. ISS-Reshetnev technicians have completed the first stage of work having installed and configured the necessary hardware and software: clustered systems, storage networks, data transmission and communication media, and general system software.

As the project moves forward, the Reshetnev Company will deliver its specially designed satellite control software as well as KazSat-3 satellite dynamic simulation software. This software will be used to simulate the spacecraft’s operation in orbit, thus giving the customers an opportunity to learn how to manage the satellite and have truly hands-on experience before the spacecraft is launched. The simulator will also help the company’s specialists carry out software testing of the central and backup ground control complexes.
