OREANDA-NEWS.  September 25, 2013. Oppressive contracts of 2009 give losses not only Ukraine, but in the end Russia. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said this at the X International Conference in Yalta.

"We’ve cut purchases of Russian gas from 41 to 25 billion cubic meters for 3.5 years. And we frankly tell to our Russian partners, if a contract that they could get in 2009, will not be changed, we will continue to follow the path of reducing purchases of Russian gas.

Who will get a benefit? Russia and Ukraine will lose. Russia will lose because it loses largest buyers of gas. We will lose as we are forced to divert financial resources from such important areas such as the modernization of our economy," Mykola Azarov noted.
