Belarus Reports 1.7% Inflation Growth in Sep 2013, 10% in Jan-Sep
OREANDA-NEWS. Belarus was there to witness a 1.7% inflation growth in September 2013, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a press-release.
In January-September consumer prices have grown 10%: August - 0.1%, July - 1%, June - 0.3%, May - 0.7%, April - 0.5%, March - 1.1%, February - 1.2%, January - 3%, Belstat informed.
Food prices grew 0.6% in September (up 7.5% in Jan-Sep).
The price of the following food products went down in September: vegetable oil - down 0.9% (down 1.9% in Jan-Dec), potatoes - down 16.8% (up 57.5%), fruits - down 3.3% (down 1.9%).
The price of the following food products went up in September: eggs - up 7.1% (+14.6%), pasta - up 3.3% (+14.6%), flour - up 6.9% (+21.5%), bread - up 1.1% (+8.4%), tobacco goods - up 0.2% (+55.5%), alcoholic beverages - up 1.6% (+18%).
Non-food prices grew 1.9% on the month in September 2013 (up 5.5% from the level of December 2013).
Prices of bicycles and motorbikes grew 0.7% on the month in September (up 8.2% the level of December 2013), footwear - up 0.4% (up 2.7%), medications - up 0.7% (up 8.5%), detergents - up 0.04% (up 6.3%), clothing - up 1% (up 2.2%), construction materials - up 0.9% (up 5.7%), consumer electronics- up 0.4% (up 2.6%), furniture - 1% (up 2.6%).
Utility tariffs grew 3.8% on the month in September 2013 (23.8% in Jan-Sep).
Tariffs on household services grew 5.9% on the month in September 2013 (up 24.8% in Jan-Sep); higher education services - up 16.8% (18.4%).
Passenger tariffs reduced 1.3% on the month (up 17.5% in Jan-Sep), medical services - up 0.8% (up 20.8%).
Belarus' government expects inflation growth to stay under 12% in 2013. Belarus' consumer prices grew 21.8% in 2012, while the government's forecast stood at 19-22%.
