OREANDA-NEWS. Ural Steel (a part of Metalloinvest (the “Company”)) has completed the upgrade of the Sintering Plant #4. The project was the part of the Company's investment programme, and targeted to increase sinter production efficiency at Ural Steel. As a result of the modernisation, the Plant's production capacity increased by 10%, from 763 thousand tonnes per year to the maximum level of 846 thousand tonnes, and its equipment can now operate uninterrupted.

In accordance with the project, most of the equipment was replaced by more efficient models. The remainder of the Plant had undergone a complete overhaul. The replacement of the exhauster - the main component of the Sintering Plant - allowed achieving improved sintering process and output quality, and increasing Plant's capacity.

Instrumentation and automated mechanisms at the Plant were also upgraded. All parameters of production process are now fed into Ural Steel's automated material flow accounting system.
