OREANDA-NEWS. December 16, 2013. The Government of the Russian Federation signed a Decree enabling a next step towards increasing availability of energy infrastructure. From 10th March 2014 applications for connecting to electric power networks can be submitted via the Internet, and there will be a possibility to track on-line the stages of processing an application and at the next stage – executing the works by a network organization.

The procedure is extended to the applications for technological connection to electric power networks with voltage up to 10 kW inclusively from the persons capacity of power-receiving devices is up to 150 kW.

The project was drafted by FAS jointly with the Ministry for Economic Development as part of executing the Action Plan (Road Map) on “Increasing Efficiency of Electric Power Infrastructure”.

“This is a long awaited document which will make the procedure for processing documents and technological connection measures, exercised by as network organizations, transparent and understandable for consumers. Undoubtedly, the new procedures set additional conditions for the work of network companies, so there is time till March to fully prepare to its implementation. By the end of the year, we plan to introduce several more documents to the Government aimed at improving the investment climate in this field. All these measures must give a positive effect already in 2014 and, I hope, will help Russia to make a breakthrough in the next Doing Business ranking”, said the Head of FAS Department for Control over Electric Power Industry, Vitaly Korolyov.
