OREANDA-NEWS. Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) has named Luciano Macagno as Director for Brazil, responsible for leading Delta's commercial operations in the fourth-largest global aviation market in the world.

“Luciano's arrival brings additional strength and focus to the Brazilian team, bolstering our work to advance Delta as the best U.S. airline in the region,” said Nicolas Ferri, Delta's vice president - Latin America and Caribbean. “Besides leading the country's commercial activities, Luciano will work closely with our equity partner GOL to continue developing our joint sales approach in the market.”

Luciano joins Delta from LATAM Airlines where, until recently, he served as Head of International Sales and Marketing for Brazil. Prior to that, Luciano served as Regional Director - South America (based in Santiago, Chile) and Regional Sales Manager - Argentina (based in Buenos Aires, Argentina) for LATAM. Before joining the airline industry in 2009, Luciano held several positions at DANONE and Ambev in Argentina.

Luciano was born and raised in Argentina, is a licensed industrial engineer and fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. He lives in Sao Paulo with his wife and three young children.
