OREANDA-NEWS. The results of a competitive bidding to select the general contractor for the second phase of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP construction have been announced in Blagoveshchensk. The winning bidder is Power Machines OJSC. The official results protocol was signed by Mikhail Matveev, Director General of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP CJSC (owner and developer) and Aleksey Barvinok, Deputy Director General - Sales Director of Power Machines OJSC. The selection of the general contractor marks the entrance of the second phase of the project to build the Amur River Region's largest heat generating plant into an active stage.

The signing took place at the site of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP which is already in operation. The event was attended by Oleg Kozhemyako (Amur Region Governor), Evgeny Dod (Chairman of the Management Board of RusHydro OJSC), Sergey Tolstoguzov (Director General of RAO Power Systems of the East OJSC), regional and city administration officials, as well as chief executives from power companies of the Far East.

The second phase of Blagoveshchenskaya TPP construction is one of the four projects funded under RusHydro OJSC investment program for the construction of new power facilities in the Far East. The projects are undertaken jointly with RAO Power Systems of the East OJSC pursuant to a Decree of the Russian Federation President. When the second phase of construction is completed, the TPP's installed power capacity will increase by 120 MW and amount to 400 MW, while its installed heat capacity will rise by 188 GCal/h and amount to 1,005 GCal/h. The construction is to be finished in 2015.
