OREANDA-NEWS. April 30, 2014. Has elapsed a year since the bank DNB entered into the cooperation with the local rep office of „Ronald McDonald House Charities” organization that provides free healthcare services to the children throughout Latvia.

Over the last year the Mobile healthcare center of „Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvia” has provided 4,253 free medical consultations to the children from various regions of Latvia.

Services in the biggest demand were the oculist check-ups (1,446 consultations), check-ups conducted by allergists/asthma specialists (979 consultations) as well as neurologists (753 consultations). Most patients of the Mobile healthcare center are children under five.
 
The intended aim for 2014 is 4,300 free consultations. „Due to the support from our friends and counterparts we can do more,” comment the representatives of „Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvia”.
 
According to the cooperation agreement that was signed last March, the bank DNB has assigned to the charity organization a brand new car by defraying the leasing costs of more than 19,000 lats. The bank supported the Mobile healthcare center also by organizing the campaign “Exchange the notes into the euro and donate the coins!” during the euro introduction period that took place in the bank from October 2013 through February 2014 and as the result earned the money for 28 free consultations.

The Mobile healthcare center is involved in organizing the visits of doctors from the Children’s Clinical University Hospital to the regions where the receipt of specialized pediatric healthcare services is limited to provide free consultations and medical check-ups to the local kids. The Mobile healthcare center has at its disposal a 12 meter long contemporary vehicle that is appropriately equipped to provide diagnostic and preventive medical services, while the DNB vehicle is used for the transportation of doctors. 
 
The initiative of „Ronald McDonald House Charities Latvia” provides for an opportunity to secure free services of oculists, pediatricians, pulmonologists/allergists, neurologists, children’s endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, dermatologists and ETN specialists.
