OREANDA-NEWS. The Federal State Unitary Enterprise Russian Post (FSUE Russian Post) and Transaero Airlines have signed the Agreement on long-term strategic cooperation.

Under the signed contract, the parties agreed on the guaranteed volumes of the postal cargo traffic. Transaero Airlines will deliver about 600 tons of postal cargo per month from two Moscow airports, i.e. Domodedovo and Vnukovo. Russian Post and Transaero Airlines also agreed to develop a joint charter programme of postal deliveries on mainline routes using the airline's aircraft.

Russian Post carries on its practice of signing direct contracts with the transportation companies, primarily with the airlines. The Agreement with Transaero Airlines will provide reduced postal deliveries terms to the mail addressees and enhanced quality of the postal services.

"Today Russian Post has direct contracts with all largest Russian carriers, - said Alexey Skatin, Deputy General Director of FSUE Russian Post. - This allows us to ensure reliability of mainline postal deliveries, reduce time of delivery and guarantee high quality services to our clients".

It allows to use even more efficiently cargo capacity of the airline, which ranks among the top three largest air carriers in terms of cargo traffic in the Russian Federation", - said Roman Vdovenko, Deputy Head of Commercial Department for Operations, Transaero Airlines.

FSUE Russian Post is one of the largest enterprises in the Russian Federation. Russian Post includes 87 branches, including 82 regional control federal postal service, the main center haul mail, EMS Russian Post, Automated sorting centers, Hybrid mail centers and Russian Post - FSUE Russian Post in Germany.

Russian post has the largest number of postal employees reaching 350,000 people. It also operates the largest retail network covering 42,000 post offices.

Annually the postal workers of Russia accept, process and deliver over 2.4 bln postal items, 54 mln parcels and 100 mln money orders. In total, Russian Post offers its clients over 100 postal, financial, communication services, and other types.

Transaero Airlines launched its services in 1991. It is the second largest carrier in the Russian Federation. In 2013 Transaero carried 12.5 million passengers. It ranks among the top 30 airlines in the world and the top 10 in Europe in terms of passenger turnover.

Currently, Transaero operates the fleet of 99 aircraft, including twenty Boeing 747s, fourteen Boeing 777s, sixteen 767s, forty four 737s, three Tupolev Tu-214 and two Tu-204-100C aircraft. Transaero has the largest widebody aircraft fleet in Russia, the CIS and Eastern Europe. It is the launch customer in Russia for such modern aircraft as Airbus A380, Boeing 747-8I and Аirbus А320neo.

Transaero serves more than 200 routes in Russia, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. Transaero was named the World's Most Improved Airline at the Skytrax 2013 Awards. In 2013, Transaero was voted the Best Airline in EMEA by Frequent Business Traveler, a U.S.-based online magazine. Transaero is the only Russian airline to receive the top CSR rating AAA(s).
