OREANDA-NEWS. The passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport amounted to 2,749,632 in May, a 6.7% increase y-o-y. The number of flights has grew by 6.5% y-o-y, to 23,541 airfield operations.

Indicators have grown significantly in domestic destinations, by 21.9% on last May, to 1.2 mln people. The passenger traffic in global destinations came to 1.56 mln in the reporting period.

Recently the trend was in re-allocation of the passenger traffic towards the increase in air transportation in domestic destinations. In addition, re-classification of the Crimean flights as domestic destinations resulted in change in the global passenger traffic indicators.

Over 1.5 mln passengers selected Moscow Domodedovo Airport for travelling in May holidays, a 6.8% increase y-o-y.

104,230 flights were serviced in the last 5 months, a 6.3% increase y-o-y. The passenger traffic in January/May has grown by 5.3%, to 11.5 mln persons, y-o-y.

The passenger traffic came to 5.1 mln people in domestic destinations over 5 months of 2014, a 14.4% increase y-o-y. The greatest increase occurred for Simferopol, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Makhachkala, Mineralnye Vody. The number of travelers in these destinations came to 1.17 mln persons, a 44.4% growth y-o-y.

The greatest increment, by 20.4%, was recorded in January/May in such international destinations as Sharm el-Sheikh, Kishinev, Hurghada, London, Antalya. Transportation came to 1.48 mln passengers in these destinations. The airport services some 6.5 mln passengers in global destinations in the first 5 months.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport freight turnover amounted to 73,000 tons in January/Mah 2014, with 15,000 tons in May.
