OREANDA-NEWS. NEC Corporation is strengthening its international retail solutions with the launch of its space saving and cost effective TWINPOS G5 52V1 touch screen POS terminal and the DCMStar/Lite POS software for small to medium sized retailers, which is quick and easy to set up.

NEC plans to start shipping these new products in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region in September and to gradually expand their availability.

The TWINPOS G5 52V1 incorporates a high performance Intel CPU and provides best-in-class value. The terminal also features easily replaceable key components such as the hard drive and the power source, making it easy to be maintained. Moreover, it can be flexibly adapted to various store layouts thanks to a space saving design of 31.8cm in height and 36.7cm in width. The system incorporates a 15 inch flat-surface display, which not only improves the design, but also eliminates infiltration of drops of water or dust through the front display area.

The DCMStar/Lite is an integrated software solution that provides functions necessary for the operation of small to medium sized retailers, including POS sales registration, basic sales promotions, central item master data maintenance and central sales data management. The TWINPOS G5 52V1 is also quick and easy to set up thanks to the e-tutorial function which explains how to set up and operate the software. NEC is also able to provide support for DCMStar/ChainStore software, which is suited to the management of a larger number of stores, and solutions for enhancing customer services and marketing, according to the growth of the chain.

NEC is involved in a number of initiatives aimed at expanding its international retail solutions, especially in the APAC region. This includes the establishment of a Regional Retail Business Support Center (RBSC), which helps formulate regional strategy and provides sales support, technological support and human resource development. The new TWINPOS G5 52V1 and DCMStar/Lite support these initiatives and strengthen NEC's ability to provide best-in-class value solutions to a wider range of retailers, both large and small.
