OREANDA-NEWS. Bishkek hosted today working meetings of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee with Almazbek Atambayev, President of Kyrgyzstan and Djoomart Otorbaev, Prime Minister of the Republic.

Gazprom's delegation took part in an extraordinary meeting of the Kyrgyz Government dedicated to the national gas industry development.

The focus of the meeting fell on the General Scheme of Gas Supply to and Gasification of the Kyrgyz Republic until 2030 generated by Gazprom. The document envisages a large-scale reconstruction and upgrade of Kyrgyz gas transmission network as well as underground gas storages and distribution facilities. The General Scheme provides for constructing gas distribution capacities for gas shipments to southern regions of the Republic as well as for autonomous gasification of individual regions.

“Gazprom early fulfills the obligations assumed on entry into the Kyrgyz market. The General Gas Supply Scheme is an extensive project that will strongly boost the reliability of gas supply to consumers. Thereby the domestic gasification will grow from 22 to 60 per cent by 2030. Between 2015 and 2017 the investment program of our subsidiary company  Gazprom Kyrgyzstan will account for RUB 35 billion which 1.7 times exceeds our five-year obligations assumed in regard with acquisition of this asset,” said Alexey Miller.

Today in Bishkek Alexey Miller and Almazbek Atambayev also took part in a ceremonial start of a fitness and recreation center construction within the Gazprom for Children program. The center will daily accommodate over 400 sportsmen and sports enthusiasts for going into team sports, fitness and various combat sports. The center is planned to be completed in the second half of 2016. A total of 16 sports centers will be built across Kyrgyzstan as part of the Gazprom for Children program.

On April 10, 2014 Gazprom and Kyrgyzgaz signed the Sales and Purchase Agreement for a 100 per cent stake of KyrgyzgazProm (renamed Gazprom Kyrgyzstan), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kyrgyzgaz. Gazprom Kyrgyzstan is an exclusive importer of natural gas to Kyrgyzstan and the owner of the domestic gas transmission and distribution systems.

Gazprom for Children is the Company's largest social project aimed at creating the environment for harmonious spiritual and physical development of children and teenagers, as well as engaging the maximum possible number of children in sports activities, artistic and amateur clubs.
