IBA Group Awarded for Best Vertical Solution of the Year

OREANDA-NEWS. On March 25, IBA Group attended a gala reception that recognized the winners of the European IT & Software Excellence 2015 Awards. Organized by IT Europa, the contest invited entries from Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), Solution Providers, and Systems Integrators.

IBA Group was shortlisted as a solution provider in two categories, namely Vertical Solution of the Year, and Public Sector and Utilities Solution of the Year. In both categories, IBA Group competed with six other finalists for an award. The Vertical Solution of the Year category turned out to be award–winning for IBA.

According to IT Europa, “The 2015 European IT & Software Excellence Awards saw a return to confidence in the industry, with some of the highest scores ever recorded by the judges. Now in its seventh year, there were notable triumphs for companies from across Europe, with projects ranging from an open–source solution saving money in the UK's NHS to automatic fare collection in Minsk.

John Garratt, chair of the judges panel, said: “The European IT industry should feel proud of what it is offering clients in a time of great change in terms of available technologies, range of solutions, and in how it is selecting from the vast array of solutions out there.”

Vadim Smotryaev, Director of Technical Division and AFC project manager at IBA Group, expressed the view that “the Automated Fare Collection solution is only the first step in the implementation of Smart City technologies by IBA Group. In the near future, the AFC system will go beyond Minsk to cover the suburbs and we intend to expand it to the entire country. IBA is currently developing smart card and NFC solutions that will be functioning not only in the transport sector, but also in other areas and branches, including loyalty programs, libraries, and museums. We strive to make the Smart City technologies work for each customer, whether he or she uses a transport card, bankcard or mobile phone.”

Sergei Levteev, IBA Group Chairman, commented on the award, saying that “it is for the first time that IBA Group submitted for the European IT & Software Excellence Awards a solution that comprises both hardware and software. The AFC system is an integrated suite of software programs and hardware devices ranging from management applications to high–level analytical tools. The city authorities can use the data provided by the AFC system to analyze passenger traffic, work of ticket inspectors, and operability of the entire system, gaining full control of the processes going on in the public transport. An IT provider with optimized business processes and a diversified portfolio of services and solutions, IBA Group has further plans to release innovative solutions to satisfy the new demands of new clients in the changing world.”

IBA Group has been a participant of IT Europa's Excellence Awards since the contest's inception in 2008. Prior to 2015, the company was selected a winner in 2014, 2012, and 2011.

Before the awards reception, IBA Group attended the European Software & Solutions Summit organized by IT Europa. First–class presenters from Gartner, Oracle, HP, and other market leaders shared their perspectives of the industry challenges in the era of social and data revolutions, when enterprises are moving to a digital business, Everything as a Service (XaaS) is becoming the preferred consumption model, and equipment and customers become connected.
