OREANDA-NEWS. Shvabe Holding launched commercial manufacture of a compact collimator sight with a powerful protection from extreme environmental factors.

The new hunting sight is designed as a closed-type collimator. It comes with a Picatinny rail mount with a screw clamp. Having compact dimensions and a low weight, it is shock resistant and can endure shooting from a 12 gauge gun. Its unique features include 12 levels of laying mark brightness gradation. Its body is made from an aluminum alloy, and its operating temperature range is -40o C to +50o C.

"The key advantage of the closed-type collimator sight is its better protection in comparison to an open-type collimator. Its closed body provides better protection from rain, snow or dirt. It is especially important when hunting in a boggy area or in bad weather conditions. As such hunting usually takes place in low-light-level conditions, using a closed-type collimator sight will be the best choice. By the way, having specifications comparable to local and foreign counterparts, our sight is considerably cheaper," said Vasily Rassokhin, General Director of Shvabe - Defense and Protection JSC.

Experts say that the body of the closed-type collimator sight limits the shooter's field of vision to some extent. This determines its scope of application: such sights are convenient for long-distance shooting. Given their high accuracy and reliability, a limited field of vision has no significant impact on shooting.

The initial modification of the sight was demonstrated at the Integrated Safety & Security 2014 Exhibition. Following that presentation and analysis of expert feedback, the designers upgraded the sighting device to improve its properties.

The first commercial batch of this model of collimators will be shipped to dealer networks already this June. The sight will be available all over Russia. The enterprise's foreign partners also demonstrated a considerable interest towards the sighting device.
