OREANDA-NEWS. From today Belfast has a different kind of energy as the city’s iconic Odyssey Arena is unveiled as The SSE Arena, Belfast.

Today sees the official name change of Northern Ireland’s largest and most famous entertainment venue as The SSE Arena, Belfast goes live. The venue joins the UK-wide stable of SSE entertainment venues including The SSE Hydro in Glasgow and The SSE Arena, Wembley.

That means it’s all change across the board at the Arena. All tickets, signs, uniforms, staff badges, stationery and merchandise at the site will now carry The SSE Arena brand as part of a 10-year naming rights deal with Northern Ireland’s second largest energy provider SSE Airtricity.

This name change is only the latest landmark in the countdown to the start of a new era on September 4 when the better-than-ever venue reopens as The SSE Arena, Belfast. The first official event will be the Belfast Tattoo.

The new SSE Arena, Belfast is currently undergoing a ?3m refurbishment and is being completely refreshed with a stunning makeover from foyer to auditorium – including digital media, free WiFi, modern seating and a new SSE Airtricity customer lounge.
