OREANDA-NEWS. The Prime Minister of Algeria, Abdelmalek Sellal, the Energy Minister, Salah Khebri and the CEO of Sonatrach, Amine Mazouzi, met today in Algeri, Eni’s  CEO, Claudio Descalzi .

During the meeting, Eni’s CEO illustrated to the Prime Minister the important developments of the company in the Country.  They then discussed the Energy mix issue and Eni offered its willingness to consider projects in partnership for the development of renewable energy.

The CEO of Eni then outlined the future strategies that Eni intends to apply in the Country in order to strengthen the partnership of over ten years between the two countries and the two companies.

Eni has been present in Algeria since 1981 and now participates in 32 mining permits, with a daily production of 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent, as the first foreign producer, following the state company Sonatrach.

Algeria is also to Italy an important strategic partner for the fulfillment of the country's gas needs.
