OREANDA-NEWS  Russia is considering selling MI-28 and KA-52 combat helicopters to Iran. This is reported by Newsweek magazine with reference to the analysis of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

It is reported that in its next analytical report, ISM relies on a message from the Tasnim agency about Moscow and Tehran's plans to establish joint production of the same models of combat helicopters. The Iranian edition has learned that the Iranian leadership is considering the possibility of purchasing a batch of helicopters for the country's naval and land forces, as well as for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Newsweek notes that Russia and Iran will continue to strengthen their cooperation in the military-industrial sphere as a measure to counter the sanctions policy of the United States and its allies. The author of the material also recalled that the speaker of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, who paid an official visit to Tehran on January 23, stressed the importance of Russian-Iranian cooperation in the face of external pressure.

Earlier it was reported that during the meeting in Tehran, representatives of the Russian and Iranian parliaments discussed the implementation of agreements in the field of transit, investment and energy.
