OREANDA-NEWS   Finnish telecommunications equipment manufacturer Nokia has asked the United States and Finland for permission to supply to Russia. According to RBC with reference to sources, we are talking about the implementation of previously concluded contracts.

Suppliers must obtain such licenses within the framework of the sanctions imposed against Russia. "We are talking about the supply of spare parts, not about equipment for expanding the network," said one of the sources and added that negotiations are at the final stage.

In addition, legally local legal entities will be liquidated as the company's obligations to customers are completed. It is assumed that this may take about a year after obtaining export licenses.

The world's largest manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, including Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Cisco and others, have suspended the supply of products to Russia. In August, it became known that Nokia intends to wind down most of its Russian business by the end of the year. The company has already written off about $100 million.
