OREANDA-NEWS   In 2023, the Armed Forces of Russia will receive a universal armored engineering vehicle based on the T-72B3 tank. This was stated in an interview with the "Red Star" by the head of the engineering troops, Lieutenant General Yuri Stavitsky.

According to him, the Russian Air Force will receive two sets of universal armored engineering vehicles (UBIM).

"To increase the mobility of troops, instead of the IMR-3M barrier engineering vehicle and the BAT-2 track-laying machine, UBIM has been developed and is being adopted on the nodes and aggregates of the T—72B3 tank," the military said.

Stavitsky noted that the vehicle is equipped with a combat module that allows hitting the enemy's manpower and lightly armored vehicles.

The Lieutenant General added that currently, in order to increase the mobility of Russian troops, including in urban conditions.
