OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian citizens want to be vaccinated against coronavirus, but they do not have such an opportunity. This was stated by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the party "Opposition Platform - For Life" Nestor Shufrich.

"In fact, Ukraine is not vaccinated. Do not say that the people do not want something there. The people have nothing to offer, they would gladly get vaccinated if there was an opportunity for this," he said on the air of the 60 Minutes program on the TV channel Russia 1.

In general, only 137 thousand people have been vaccinated in Ukraine so far. There is no way to get vaccinated against coronavirus even for money.

According to Shufrich, "the state, unfortunately, was not able to ensure either the purchase of vaccines or the rate of vaccination."

He said that in Ukraine, 117 thousand doses of the American vaccine Pfizer or Moderna are expected to be delivered as part of the COVAX international program for the distribution of vaccines against coronavirus between countries.

With the Indian Covishield vaccine, there are more questions than answers. "I have already filed a second request to the Minister of Health of Ukraine demanding to receive the price and terms of delivery of Covishield. The first time he unsubscribed that this is confidential information. The second time I strictly reminded him that I demand that this information be provided to me as a people's deputy and bearer of state secrets", - said Shufrich.

According to him, the authorities are absolutely unable to deal with the consequences of the pandemic, and today the issue of protecting the health of Ukrainian citizens and ensuring a transparent and quick procedure for their vaccination "has united the entire opposition - from left to right radicals."
