OREANDA-NEWS. Power management company Eaton will highlight its expansive portfolio of services and solutions designed to help utilities improve reliability, drive operational efficiencies and reduce costs at the IEEE PES T&D Conference and Exhibition from May 2 through 5 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. In booth #2657, Eaton will showcase a range of interactive displays to highlight how attendees can design, build and maintain a safer, automated, more secure and cost-effective grid. Eaton will also lead two educational sessions focused on microgrid technology at the event.

“Eaton offers an industry-leading portfolio of products and services that automate, protect and enhance against the challenging demands of today's electrical grid,” said Jacob Chacko, utility marketing manager at Eaton. “From system expertise and planning to world-class solutions, we look forward to demonstrating how Eaton can help utilities increase the overall reliability of operations while delivering efficient and safe power.”

On Tuesday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m., Eaton senior specialist engineer Vijay Bhavaraju, PhD, will participate in the panel discussion, “Microgrid Controller Design and Testing Strategies.” The session will help attendees better understand the importance, function and operation of microgrid control systems for enhanced reliability, security and efficiency.

Bhavaraju will also lead a presentation on Wednesday, May 4 at 4:00 p.m. titled, “Virtual Microgrid and Control Validation.” The session will address the complexities of microgrid operation and explore how a virtual environment can enhance the testing of microgrids.

Visitors to Eaton’s booth #2657 at the IEEE PES T&D Conference can connect with Eaton representatives and see interactive exhibits of a range of solutions, including:

  • An innovative grouping of medium-voltage, metal-clad switchgear and enclosures factory designed and tested at Eaton’s Omaha Power Center to reduce project complexity and labor and enhance safety. Eaton will demonstrate the use of a human-machine interface (HMI) touch screen and its substation automation platform to control racking and breaker operation.
  • Eaton’s Power Xpert® dashboard, an advanced HMI that provides a new level of factory-configured control, communication and safety to enhance electrical systems monitoring.
