Rosatom has announced that the new automated service management and repair system in use at the Smolensk NPP will become the "prototype" for all of the country's NPPs

OREANDA-NEWS.  Russia's Rosatom has announced that the new automated service management and repair system in use at the Smolensk nuclear power plant will by 2018 become the "prototype" for all of the country's nuclear power units.

Rosenergoatom said the change will help the nuclear power plant operator reduce the cost of maintenance work by 5% and thus cut the cost of electricity generation. The plan was announced by Rosenergoatom's deputy general director for economics and finance, Sergey Migalin during a working meeting at Smolensk NPP last week, Rosatom said.
