OREANDA-NEWS Against the background of another round of the Iranian conflict, the exchange prices for gas in Europe exceeded $700 per thousand cubic meters for the first time since March 23, that is, since its beginning. This is reported by TASS.
It is noted that quotes are rising by 5 percent on July 20, amounting to about 716 dollars.
The day before, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that the lack of Russian gas supplies had provoked a protracted energy crisis in Germany. Meanwhile, Spain, due to a shortage of electricity, began spending its winter gas reserves for the first time in the middle of summer.
Oil prices are also rising significantly due to the uncertainty around the Strait of Hormuz, exceeding the mark of $ 90 per barrel of Brent.
