OREANDA-NEWS The total gas reserves in the EU continue to update the historical maximum, exceeding 99.6%. The supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the region increased again in November, and the share of wind generation jumped to a record 31%.

The EU countries continue to prepare for the heating season by continuing to pump gas storage facilities. The level of UGS occupancy in the EU as of the gas day on November 4 (ended on the morning of November 5) reached 99.55%. The total volume of gas in storage is about 110.2 billion cubic meters of gas.

Experts noted that warm weather, LNG imports and rich reserves formed last year helped the EU countries to fill UGS.

The transit line through Ukraine remains the only route for Russian gas supplies to Western and Central European countries after the destruction of the Nord Stream. Russian gas supplies have been going through Ukraine in a reduced volume since May 2022, when the OGTSU announced the termination of transit to Europe through the Sokhranovka station due to force majeure: the company allegedly cannot control the Novopsk compressor station in the LPR. However, the Russian gas holding saw no reason to stop pumping in the previous mode.
