OREANDA-NEWS  Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak instructed departments and oil companies to strengthen control over the provision of fuel to the regions, the government's press service reported.

"Following the meeting, Alexander Novak instructed relevant departments and oil companies to strengthen control over the fuel supply of the regions, if necessary, promptly eliminate imbalances, and prevent price spikes at all levels," the statement said.

The Deputy Prime Minister also called for keeping special control over the cost of fuel for agricultural producers and retail prices at gas stations.

Fuel supply disruptions have been observed in Russia this summer. Vladimir Putin called these difficulties temporary and attributed them to attempts by the Kiev regime to create a nervous atmosphere. He instructed to deploy the capabilities of medium and small businesses in the production of petroleum products as soon as possible.

The government has already banned the export of gasoline and diesel fuel, provided tax incentives for the import of fuels and lubricants and increased production in the country.
