OREANDA-NEWS Rosatom demands that the project company Fennovoima, which unilaterally terminated the contract for the construction of the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant in Finland in 2022, repay the loan for 920.5 million euros ahead of schedule, according to a report published on Monday by Atomenergoprom Group (part of Rosatom, consolidates all civil assets of the Russian nuclear industry) according to IFRS for 2022.

International arbitrations are considering the claims of Atomenergoprom organizations for a total of about 3 billion euros due to the rupture of this contract by Finland, the report notes.

According to the report, a loan of 920.5 million euros was issued by Fennovoima to finance the construction of the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear power plant.

In addition, the Russian side demands compensation for the value of its shares of Fennovoima in connection with the termination of the shareholder agreement, the report states.
