OREANDA-NEWS  A solar power plant with a capacity of 300 MW will be built in Kyrgyzstan with the support of the Russian Federation, Deputy Minister of Energy of the republic Sabyrbek Sultanbekov told reporters on Wednesday.

"A solar power plant with a capacity of 300 MW will be built on 400 hectares of land in the Issyk-Kul region near the village of Toru-Aigyr," the deputy minister said.

According to him, the agreement with the Russian company "Unigrin Energy", which will finance the construction, is scheduled to be signed on Wednesday during a meeting of the Kyrgyz-Russian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation in Bishkek.

According to the official, according to the agreement, Kyrgyzstan will purchase electricity from this solar power plant for 25 years at a price of 4.42 soms (about 5 cents) per kW.
