OREANDA-NEWS   Rosneft and Indian Oil Company have signed an agreement to significantly increase oil supplies to India, the Russian company said on its website.

They also agreed to diversify the varieties of energy resources supplied.

"The document was signed by Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, and Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Srikanth Madhav Vaidya," the publication says.

This happened during the working trip of the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin to India, where he held meetings with representatives of government departments and heads of the largest oil and gas companies in the country.

According to the International Energy Agency, Russia provided 40% of India's imported oil and 20% of China's imports in February. These countries account for 70% of Russian oil exports, the agency estimates.
