OREANDA-NEWS  In May, Russia remained the largest oil supplier to India with a result of 2.1 million barrels per day, which is 0.4 million barrels more than in April. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the OPEC report.

The UAE is in second place by a wide margin, with 611,000 barrels per day, and Saudi Arabia is in third place, with 350,000 barrels per day. The total volume of Indian imports increased in a month from 4.92 million barrels per day to 5.09 million.

Meanwhile, China, the world's largest oil importer, reduced purchases in May from 9.32 million barrels per day to 7.72 million. Russia retained its status as the largest supplier with a 25 percent share, but its gap from the second Saudi Arabia (17 percent) is not so great.

Earlier, the International Energy Agency reported that in June, the average daily sea exports of Russian oil to India increased by 760,000 barrels, to 2.6 million barrels per day.

And last week, Bloomberg estimated that, amid problems with domestic refining, the average daily sea exports of Russian oil in four weeks (this period is considered the most significant) reached 4.22 million barrels per day, which was the highest since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine.
