OREANDA-NEWSThe Rosseti Group recorded a decrease in electricity consumption in the regions of operation from April 1 to April 15 by 6.4% compared to the same period last year due to the impact of the pandemic. This is stated in the materials of the group.

Household consumption over this period increased by 1.1%. The volume of electricity supplied by the companies of the group in March 2020 decreased by 3.4% compared with March 2019 due to the self-isolation regime to prevent the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19.

In the first week of self-isolation, the decrease in electricity consumption without taking into account the temperature factor amounted to 3.5%, then in the second week the rate of decline in energy consumption was not so high, the Ministry of Energy reported. The highest rates of decline in consumption were demonstrated by Moscow, the Moscow region, the central region, and the Middle Volga.

The Rosseti company is the operator of one of the largest electric grid complexes in the world. Manages 2.35 million km of power lines, 507 thousand substations. The property complex includes 35 subsidiaries and affiliates.
