OREANDA-NEWS German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that no one in the EU believes in Gazprom's version of the technical reasons for the reduction in gas supplies via Nord Stream 1. He announced this following the results of the summit of EU leaders, RIA Novosti reports.

“None of us thinks that the technical reasons currently given by the Russian supplier for reducing gas supplies are true. Therefore, everyone is preparing to take the right steps at the right time. In Germany, we did this a long time ago,” he said.

Earlier it was reported that the reduction in Russian gas supplies affected 12 countries of the European Union, 10 of them issued early warnings as part of the gas supply security system. This was stated at a hearing in the European Parliament by the First Deputy Chairman of the European Commission Frans Timmermans.

According to him, the risk of supply disruptions is now real. At the same time, Timmermans noted that European gas storages are filled by more than 50%, which is much higher than last year.
