OREANDA-NEWS  The Lukoil Neftochim Burgas refinery in Bulgaria will start refining oil of non-Russian origin from March. This was announced on Thursday by the government press service following the meetings of the head of the technical government of Bulgaria, Gylyba Donev, with representatives of the management of Lukoil. "During the meeting, Lukoil provided guarantees to ensure domestic fuel consumption in Bulgaria, they confirmed their obligations to pay tax on excess profits of the company in advance. Lukoil also announced its intention to start refining oil of non-Russian origin in March," the report says.

In turn, the Bulgarian Prime Minister drew attention to the importance of the construction of the Alexandroupolis - Burgas oil pipeline, a memorandum on the design of which was signed with Greek colleagues. According to Donev, thanks to this pipeline, Bulgaria will receive additional security guarantees by providing alternative sources of oil supply that will cover the needs of the refinery.
