Corresponding bans are being introduced in Bashkortostan, the Republics of Altai, Dagestan, Kalmykia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Komi, Mari El, Mordovia, Khakassia, Chuvashia, Khabarovsk, Kamchatka, Trans-Baikal Territories, Amur, Arkhangelsk, Bryansk, Volgograd, Vologda, Irkutsk, Kaliningrad, Kemerovo, Kirov, Kursk, Leningrad, Lipetsk, Magadan, Murmansk, Orenburg, Ryazan, Saratov, Penza, Sakhalin, Smolensk and Tyumen regions.

In addition to these regions, alcohol cannot be purchased in Nenets and Chukotka Autonomous Okrugs, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Sevastopol, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions, Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics, as well as in St. Petersburg.

Earlier, Rosalokoltabakcontrol (RATK) stated that in May 2026, alcohol sales in Russia fell by 6 percent after rising in March and April. Andrey Moskovsky, president of the Alcopro Guild, admitted that sales are falling as consumer pessimism is increasing in the market: Russians have become more attentive to spending, and alcohol is the first category to cut spending.
