Over 100 kg of cocaine found among bananas in the port of St. Petersburg

OREANDA-NEWS St. Petersburg customs officers detained a large shipment of drugs, the press service of the Northwestern Customs Administration reported on Friday.
"Employees of the Baltic and Northwestern Operational Customs, together with the Economic Security Service of the Federal Security Service of Russia, prevented two facts of cocaine smuggling with a total weight of more than 100 kilograms," the message says.
100 identical briquettes in a polymer film were found in the technological cavities of containers with bananas that arrived on ships from Belgium to the port of St. Petersburg.
Two criminal cases have been initiated under Part 4 of p.229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (drug smuggling on an especially large scale).
