OREANDA-NEWS  Rospotrebnadzor began checking after complaints about the appearance of "suspicious" Coca-Cola on sale in Moscow and the Moscow region, the agency said in a statement.

"Complaints about products of unknown origin were received by the Rospotrebnadzor offices in Moscow and the Moscow region. An inspection has been launched on this fact," Rospotrebnadzor noted.

They added that information about sales in Moscow and the Moscow region of "suspicious" Coca-Cola appeared last week. "A number of publications claimed that a counterfeit drink could get on the shelves," the report says.

RBC previously wrote that a bottled drink appeared in Moscow retail with labels that completely coincide with the original Coca-Cola of Russian production. Two-liter bottles with a label similar to the original one and the bottling date of October 5 and November 3 were found in two stores of the "Traffic Light" chain.

The label states that the drink was made "with the permission of The Coca-Cola Company" by the Russian bottler of the company — Coca-Cola HBC Eurasia LLC at the production in Moscow. The production address coincides with the location of the plant, which is now owned by Multon Partners (formerly Coca-Cola HBC), where Coca-Cola drinks were produced.
