OREANDA-NEWS  Due to the increased demand for certain medications, there may be delays in the delivery of drugs to pharmacies, Roszdravnadzor reported. They explained the delays with logistical problems. The agency claims that distributors "are taking measures to change logistics routes and prompt delivery of medicines."

Roszdravnadzor insists that this is a "temporary defect of drugs", and recommends not to purchase medicines from resellers. "Some unscrupulous organizations offer citizens to make an advance payment in the amount of 50% to 100% of its cost for the delivery of the necessary medicinal product (including expensive, at an unreasonably low or inflated price). No warranty obligations are provided to the buyer at the same time," the agency said.

The decline in demand due to the weakening of the coronavirus led to a slowdown in the sales of pharmacy chains in the third quarter of 2022. In October, pharmaceutical retailers recorded a real drop in sales. In early November, Russian pharmacies complained of a local shortage of broad-spectrum antibiotics, including the drug amoxiclav. Market participants explained the situation with a seasonal increase in demand for this group of drugs, and manufacturers could also have difficulties with the supply of raw materials from Asian countries.
