OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Industry and Trade plans to introduce a ban on the purchase of foreign drones to fulfill civil government orders, First Deputy head of the department Vasily Osmakov said at the Innoprom-2023 exhibition.

"In the autumn, by the end of the year, we will introduce a ban regime, restrictions on the purchase of foreign drones for the purpose of implementing a state civil order," he said (quoted by TASS).

Russia already has a list of goods produced abroad and Prohibited for Procurement for State Needs (Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 616 of April 30, 2020 "On Establishing a Ban on the Admission of Industrial Goods Originating from Foreign Countries for the Purposes of Procurement for State and Municipal Needs, as well as Industrial Goods Originating from of foreign states, works (services) performed (rendered) by foreign persons for the purposes of procurement for the needs of national defense and state security").

There are about 150 items in the list: some planes and aircraft, wagons, locomotives, pleasure, cruise, fishing vessels, bulk carriers, fire trucks and ambulances, tractors, excavators, graders and bulldozers, etc. — up to clothes and shoes.
