Russians' demand for domestic goods jumped by 70%

OREANDA-NEWS In the first nine months of 2026, Ozon users ordered 1.8 billion Russian-made goods on the site - 70% more than in the same period last year, the marketplace's press service told RIA Novosti.
"On National Unity Day, Ozon summed up the sales of domestic goods. In January-September 2026, customers ordered 1.8 billion Russian-made goods on the platform, which is 70% more than in the same period of 2025. On average, this is more than 6 million products per day," the report says.
For example, 62 million customers ordered Russian goods in nine months. It is noted that many orders travel across the country. For example, in Yuzhno-Kurilsk, garden tools from a manufacturer from the Vladimir region were among the most popular purchases. And residents of the Dagestani village of Usukhchai order bee food produced in the Ryazan region.
Most of the demanded goods are produced in Moscow and the region, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar Territory and Sverdlovsk region. At the same time, residents of these regions are more likely than others to buy goods made in other parts of the country.
"Ten years ago, a small manufacturer sold mainly in his city and in neighboring areas of the region. Now its products can be ordered by residents from different parts of the country. We take care not only of logistics, but also of promotion assistance. To do this, we are systematically developing regional storefronts," commented Igor Zimin, Vice President for Government Relations at Ozon.
The company recalled that in 2022, together with the regional authorities and the My Business centers, they launched the Made in Russia project, to which 58 Russian regions are already connected. Any local brand can post their products there for free and get additional promotion to the marketplace's multi-million audience.
