OREANDA-NEWS  Danish Royal Greenland, one of the largest suppliers of shrimp in the world, has withdrawn from the Russian business that it conducted with Agama Group.

As reported in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, since mid-December, the group owns 100% of Agama Royal Greenland LLC, which is engaged in seafood processing. Previously, the companies owned joint ventures on a parity basis.

According to Kommersant, which was the first to draw attention to this deal, Royal Greenland is considered a major supplier of northern shrimp and black halibut in the world, unites 49 factories in Greenland, Europe and Canada. In the joint venture, Royal Greenland was responsible for the supply of raw materials, and Agama was responsible for distribution. After the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, Royal Greenland announced the suspension of supplies to the Russian Federation, the annual cost of which was estimated at 100 million Danish crowns (1.3 billion rubles at the exchange rate of the Central Bank).

Agama Royal Greenland produces frozen and chilled fish, crustacean, and shellfish products in the Moscow region under the Agama and Bay of Plenty brands. In 2022, the company produced more than 9 thousand tons of products, it is planned to increase capacity by one and a half times, the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food reported. Agama also owns a factory in Murmansk with a processing capacity of 500 tons of cod fish per month, and Fish Manufactory No. 1 stores.

The purchase of a stake in a joint venture is not Agama's first deal with assets of companies that left the Russian Federation. In July 2022, she acquired the company Ortika Frozen Foods (the former Russian "daughter" of the Polish producer of frozen vegetables and fruits Hortex).

According to the SPARK-Interfax analytical system, Agama Royal Greenland's revenue in 2022 amounted to 453.1 million rubles against 413.5 million rubles a year earlier, net profit - 31 million rubles against 35.8 million rubles, respectively.

Agama Group is owned on a parity basis by Yuri Alasheev and Igor Lysenkov. It is one of the largest suppliers and processors of fish and seafood.
