OREANDA-NEWS  South Korea almost doubled its wheat imports from Russia at the beginning of the year, RIA Novosti estimated according to the South Korean statistical service.

So, in January, South Korean companies increased purchases of Russian wheat to 10.7 million dollars against 6.2 million a year earlier. Thus, the amount of supplies has almost doubled in annual terms.

As a result, Russia became the third largest wheat supplier to South Korea in January, and Moscow's share of all wheat exports to Seoul was 15.6%. The USA supplied the most wheat with a share of 53.9%, followed by Australia with a share of 22.1%.
