OREANDA-NEWS As part of the new, 21st package of anti-Russian sanctions, the European Union (EU) may abandon fish supplied from the Russian Federation. This was stated by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
The EU has considered a number of restrictions, including energy, the financial sector, and cryptocurrency trading. Also, for the first time, restrictions may affect the fishing industry of the Russian Federation.
"Today we are proposing the 21st package of sanctions. We focus on the sectors with the most impact.: These are energy, financial services and crypto trading, and this time we will also include fishing for the first time," von der Leyen said.
In addition, the association considered maintaining maximum prices for Russian raw materials at $ 44.1 per barrel for six months. In addition to maintaining the ceiling, stricter restrictions for the shadow fleet are being discussed. "Today we propose to include 30 more vessels in the list, in addition to the 632 against which sanctions have already been imposed," the head of the European Commission explained at a briefing.
