OREANDA-NEWS Vietnam expects trade with Russia to reach $5 billion in 2026, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"By the end of July 2026, the bilateral trade turnover reached $3.24 billion, showing an increase of 12% compared to the same period of the previous year. By the end of 2026, the total trade volume may exceed $ 5 billion," he said.
 
In addition, the ambassador shared data on the structure of trade turnover. According to him, Vietnamese exports to Russia are based on consumer goods such as textiles, coffee, seafood, vegetables, cashews, peppers and other products. As for imports from Russia, they mainly consist of industrial goods - coal, fertilizers, chemical products, raw materials for the production of plastics and metals.
 
The diplomat added that the leaders of the two countries pay increased attention to economic cooperation, and the existence of a favorable legal framework contributes to the increasingly active expansion of trade and investment ties.

"Based on this, we can expect an increase in the number of investments and business contracts between Vietnam and Russia in the near future, which will make it possible to achieve the target of bilateral trade turnover of 15 billion US dollars by 2030," he concluded.
