OREANDA-NEWS Aeroflot has obtained from the European aircraft concern Airbus a refund of the prepayment (PDP) for four A350 aircraft ordered in 2007 in the amount of $199 million, the company's CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky said.

Answering the question of how many PDPs "hung up" for the company in connection with Western sanctions, the head of Aeroflot said: "If we talk not only about PDP, but also about deductions of technical reserves and other payments that we made in advance, the total amount is significant. We are also doing this, but everything is not so positive there - I don't know how our negotiations will end." He did not name the exact amount.

Now there are seven A350-900s in the Aeroflot fleet, they were received under a direct contract with Airbus signed in 2007. The whole deal involves the delivery of 22 such aircraft.

The sanctions imposed by Western countries after the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in February 2022 provide for a ban on the supply of civilian aircraft and spare parts to the Russian Federation.
