OREANDA-NEWS  From January to July 2026, 38.3 thousand new European-made passenger cars were sold in Russia. This is 89 percent higher than in the same period last year, which confirms the high demand of Russians for cars from Europe, analyst Sergey Tselikov pointed out in his Telegram channel.

Almost half of the total volume was provided by two German companies. BMW accounted for 22.9 percent of sales, Volkswagen — 22.8 percent. Next in the list of leaders are Audi with an indicator of 18.7 percent, Mercedes-Benz (15.8) and Skoda (8.9). These five brands together account for about 90 percent of all European cars sold in Russia.

In absolute terms, BMW (8,779 units) increased sales by 32 percent during the reporting period, while Volkswagen (8,733 units) increased sales by 258 percent. Sales of Audi (7135) increased by 438 percent, Mercedes-Benz (6059) increased the result by 55 percent, Skoda (3416) showed an increase of 63 percent.

The top 10 also included Land Rover (1,681 units, up 21 percent), Porsche (1,113, down 0.2 percent), Volvo (473, up 73 percent), Mini (177, up 65 percent) and Rolls-Royce (143, up 13 percent).

Separately, Tselikov noted a decrease in sales of cars from French manufacturers. So, in seven months Citroen managed to sell only 85 cars, and Peugeot — only 21. Moreover, this is less than the results of luxury British and Italian manufacturers: Bentley sold 124 cars, and Lamborghini - 120.

Earlier it became known that banned Chinese Audi cars began to be sold in Germany, which turned out to be cheaper than cars of the German concern.
