OREANDA-NEWS  The authorities offered Russian airlines to purchase Western airliners not only at the expense of state financing, but also their own net profit.

According to the publication, Aeroflot, Ural Airlines and iFly have agreed with the Ministry of Transport to receive funds from the NWF for the re-registration of 40 aircraft from foreign ownership to Russian. Aeroflot has agreed to buy 18 aircraft of the Irish AerCap, Ural Airlines — 19 aircraft of different owners, iFly — three Airbus A330 from the American Air Lease Corporation. Experts note that the insurance settlement for these airliners will require 80-96 billion rubles.

S7 also does not intend to "give up the possibility of state financing," although it is still in the process of approval, sources told the newspaper. Utair was able to negotiate a deal for nine of its Boeing aircraft, but decided to do without help and "raise funds independently."

At the same time, the Ministry of Transport demanded that those airlines that received subsidies in 2022 and ended it with a net profit, fully direct it to finance transactions with lessors. S7's net profit last year exceeded 34 billion rubles, Utair received more than 4 billion rubles. Aeroflot will not be affected by the requirement, as it ended the year with a loss of 40.5 billion rubles according to RAS (excluding adjustments to the new lease accounting standard).

Earlier, airlines complained that they might not have enough money and time to buy Western aircraft. The problem is that the Ministry of Transport is slow to distribute funds from the NWF intended to pay for airliners.
