OREANDA-NEWS  Sibir Airlines (S7 Airlines) is resuming flights to Gelendzhik from Novosibirsk and Moscow from August 7 and 8, respectively, the company said.

"S7 Airlines is resuming flights to Gelendzhik from two cities – Novosibirsk and Moscow. Starting from August 7, the airline will operate flights from Tolmachevo.… The flight program from Moscow will begin on August 8," S7 said.

Flights from Novosibirsk will be operated 2 times a week, from Moscow Domodedovo Airport - 4 times a week.

The journey time from Moscow to Gelendzhik will be about four hours, and from Novosibirsk – five hours.
Flights on these routes will be operated on Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A320neo aircraft. Ticket sales in both directions are already open.

As the Federal Air Transport Agency reported on Wednesday, Gelendzhik Airport is ready to receive and dispatch civil aircraft from July 10, regular flights can be operated from 08.30 to 20.00 Moscow time.

Aviagavan, one of the 11 airports in Southern Russia, has not accepted aircraft since 2022 for security reasons. The possibility of safe flights to Gelendzhik Airport has been confirmed by specialists from the Federal Air Transport Agency and the State ATM Corporation.

The new airport terminal at the resort was built in 2021, which doubled the airport's capacity. It is expected that by the end of 2025, work on the renovation of the aviation plant's infrastructure will be completed. Last May, Elista Airport also reopened in Southern Russia. In the first half of 2025, it served about 29,000 people, with a total of 324 flights.
