The MC-21 aircraft with new systems made its first flight

OREANDA-NEWS A prototype of the MC-21 medium-range aircraft, equipped with new Russian systems and assemblies, took to the skies for the first time from the airfield of the Yakovlev Irkutsk Aviation Plant (part of the Rostec United Aircraft Corporation). This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Rostec.
The company said that Russian avionics, power supply systems, air conditioning and others were tested on board the aircraft. "The flight marked the beginning of factory finishing tests," Rostec emphasized.
The first flight performed by the MS-21 lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes. During this time, the aircraft reached a speed of 580 kilometers per hour and an altitude of 3,000 meters. According to the pilots, the flight mission was completed completely. They noted that all aircraft systems worked smoothly.
Earlier, Russia approved the production of MC-21 aircraft. Prior to that, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said that certification flights of the MC-21 with Russian PD-14 engines were planned to begin in the summer.
